Welcome to the Musicians of All Saints

We are an established and committed group of orchestral music makers based in the historic county town of Lewes in East Sussex.

Our home is the All Saints Centre, an eighteenth century church in Lewes which has found a new life as a centre for a wide variety of community activities.

We provide regular concerts featuring a wide variety of composers, both classical and modern. We pride ourselves in a repertoire which covers both well known works from famous writers and challenging new pieces, some of which are receiving their first airing.

The 2006-2007 season is called "The Chinese Year" and features a piece of Chinese music in each concert. The first concert on the 23 September was conducted by Wai Sing Fat from China and included a demonstration of Chinese instruments. The rest of the season has presented one Chinese composer per concert along with a selection of western composers.

Our next concert on 19 April will present talented young musicians from Trinity College of Music

Our principle director is Andrew Sherwood, a professional concert violinist. Andy has lived with his family in Lewes for many years and he is a keen supporter of local music-making.

The Musicians of All Saints owe much of their existence to Jan Stammers, who was one of the founding members of the All Saints committee. Jan was active in securing a future for the building as a centre for the arts in Lewes and in promoting the idea of an Orchestra with a permanent base there.
